James E. Zedalis ’62
James E. Zedalis, 84, died peacefully at his home in Ozona, FL on February 18, 2025. He was born in Nashua, NH to Peter W. and Mary E. Zedalis on February 18, 1941. Graduate of Maine Maritime Academy in 1962, he was a ship engineer in the merchant marines with Moore-McCormack Lines sailing out of Boston. In 1966, he married Helga Boegner of Vienna, Austria (deceased), then settled in Ozona in 1967. Jim had a long professional career with GTE in facilities management in Tampa. During his retirement years, Jim refurbished a 30 ft. sailboat, that he enjoyed sailing with his young grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Timothy C. Zedalis of Gainesville, FL; two daughters, Karina Zedalis of Lyons, CO, Andrea Z. LeRoy of Rockledge, FL; and four grandchildren.
