Roger L. Poulin ’57
Roger Lionel Poulin, 91, of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at NHC of Garden City. He was born January 26, 1932 in Winslow, ME, son of the late Joseph Napoleon Poulin and Marie Zelie Boucher Poulin.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther M. “Tess” Poulin; four sisters, Yvette Sandberg (Ernest), Germaine Maigret (Paul), Lucienne Flannery (Jim), and Theresa Casavant (Don) and a brother, Gerry Poulin (Mary).
Survivors include three sons, Michael G. Poulin and his wife, Melissa of Murrells Inlet, SC, Mark R. Poulin and his wife, Lore of Murrells Inlet, SC and Stephen J. Poulin and his wife, Robin of Pawleys Island, SC; and grandchildren, Aimée, Karlee (Joseph Michael), and Benjamin.
Roger was a member of Precious Blood of Christ in Pawleys Island, as well as the Elks Club, & the Alumni Association of Maine Maritime Academy. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Coast Guard. Roger retired from International Paper after more than thirty years of dedicated work.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Precious Blood of Christ, 1633 Waverly Road, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. A service with inurnment and military honors will take place in early August in Waterville, Maine.
