Thomas S. Wranosky ’88
On October 7, 2022, Thomas (Tom) Wranosky, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56. He was born in Oconto Falls, Wis., on July 20, 1966, to Robert and Beverly Wranosky. After moving to Maine in 1981, Tom graduated from Winslow High School in 1984 and went on to graduate from Maine Maritime Academy in 1988. He worked for International Paper in Ticonderoga, New York for over 25 years until he retired in 2021. He went on to work for Westrock in Panama City, Fla., and most recently took a position at Georgia-Pacific in Monroeville, Ala.
Tom married Dawn Bailey in August of 1992, settled down in Crown Point, N.Y., and had two children, Courtney and Tyler. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed being on Lake Champlain, snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, having a garden, and sitting by campfires. Most importantly, he enjoyed watching his children grow up into the young adults that they have become. They were his pride and joy along with their beloved dog Disney.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn; two children, Courtney and Tyler of Crown Point, N.Y.; mother, Beverly Wranosky of Tallahassee, Fla.; brother Robert Wranosky Jr. of Monticello, Ind.; sister Susan McConnell (Matt) of Monticello, Fla.; niece Meghan Wranosky of Portland, Maine; Marcia Wranosky of Williamsburg, Va.; family by affection Gary (Faith) “Unkie” Boulet and Paul (Laura) “Uncle Buck” Ainsworth; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wranosky Sr. and his mother-in-law Shirley Bailey.
