George H. Duncan ’67
George Henry Duncan of Blue Point, New York sadly passed away on July 1, 2023. He was born on October 27, 1945, son of the late Edith Hodgkinson and George Duncan. He graduated from Maine Maritime Academy and obtained a master’s degree from Suny Maritime College at Fort Schuyler. He sailed as a Mate on U.S. flagships until entering the private sector, working as a broker of dry bulk cargo until his retirement. George was an avid reader of history, loved the beach, boating and surfcasting. He was happiest when spending time with his wife surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Ann; his son George and wife Justine; his son Neil and wife Lisa; his grandchildren Madeline, Nathan, and Charlotte. He was loved, his smile and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who came to know him. Friends and relatives will gather 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday July 7th, at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, West Sayville, NY.
