Kevin P. Mitchell ’97
LEWISTON – Kevin P. Mitchell, 64, of Greene died on Dec. 17, 2021, at Central Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID, in spite of being fully vaccinated and boostered.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1957, and grew up in Oxford, Massachusetts. The son of the late Karl Mitchell and Janet Levasseur Mitchell. Kevin was educated at Bay Path Vocational School in Worcester, Mass., and later received his Associate Degree from Maine Maritime Academy through the apprenticeship program at Bath Iron Works.
Kevin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and the Maine Army National Guard.
He was employed at Bath Iron Works, Fontaine HVAC and most recently at Pinard and Sons Mechanical Services in Wales.
He was a martial artist, practicing at Pelletier’s Karate Academy. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing and attending his wife’s plays and concerts. At the time of his passing, he was the Vice Senior Commandant of the local detachment of the Marine Corps League and a member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs, New England Division.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Domenico) Mitchell of Greene, his brother in law Larry Domenico of Clinton, Mass.; five sisters, a brother, aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews all from the Worcester area. Jane wants to thank the Doctors and Nurses at CMMC Covid Ward and the ICU for their mercy and care.
Funeral services will be held Friday Jan. 7, 2022 at 6 p.m., in the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday Jan. 7, from 4 p.m., until time of service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway Lewiston, ME 04240. 784-4023.
