Stephen A. Rowland ’86
Stephen A. Rowland of Turner, Maine passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at the age of 59.
He graduated from Jay High School, after which he would go on to play football at Maine Maritime Academy while earning his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation Steve began his career in the Navy where he would fly P-3 Orions. Upon retiring from the Navy as a Lieutenant in 1990, he began a career in manufacturing. In 2017 Steve would start his business Creative Creations Woodworking, as a talented woodworker, this was his ideal job and he excelled.
Steve was a loving and caring father to his three sons, attending every sporting function he could, and coaching at any opportunity. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and was an active member in the NAVHDA and NADKC hunting dog communities.
Steve was predeceased by his father Gary Rowland; and his son Cameron Rowland. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Rowland; his siblings, Michael, Marcia, and David Rowland; his sons, Cole, Clay, and Caleb Rowland; and his dogs Brodie and Abby.
