David R. Cross ’86
David Ray Cross, 61, of Charleston, SC, passed away on September 27, 2024, just shy of his 62nd birthday. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill, their children, Tucker and Amanda, and his brothers, Mark and Jeff.
David’s adventurous spirit shone through his remarkable life as a Surfer, Merchant Marine, and innovative professional in the modular container industry, with his next chapter as a husband and father beginning the day he met Jill, the love of his life.
His motto, “What can I do to make your day better,” guided him until his last day, when he was helping family and brightening their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a maritime endowment fund at Maine Maritime Academy in memory of David Cross, supporting future generations who share his love for the sea.
