Brett Plummer will be joining as our guest speaker to discuss the state of the nuclear power industry and the restart of the nuclear program at MMA. A little background about our speaker: Brett has nearly 50 years of nuclear power experience including managing, assessing, and operating nuclear power plants and the development and execution of large projects. He started his career in the US Navy on nuclear submarines and has held Senior Reactor Operator licenses at 2 different power plants. Brett has held significant responsibilities throughout his career including working at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company, Seabrook Station (NH), and New Brunswick Power (Canada) where he led as the Vice President of Nuclear and Chief Nuclear Officer. Brett is a wealth of knowledge and experience and has recently joined the MMA team to restart the nuclear program. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Join fellow alumni and friends of MMA for a fun pickle ball tournament Saturday February 1, at The Woodlands in Falmouth, ME.  All proceeds will be used to further drive alumni engagement. $50 per person includes 2-2.5 hours of play, locker rooms etc. and attending the social at 6 PM immediately following play. A little nervous about playing and want to attend the social only?  $20 pp Play starts at 3:30; locker rooms and showers are open to you and a few racquets will be available for rent.  All ages, all skill sets are welcome.  There will be a round robin of doubles play at the Novice, Beginner, Intermediate (and higher if we have any) along with a playoff between the two top ranked teams in each division.  Don’t have a partner?  Not to worry, we will pair you up with another single at your skill level. The Casco Bay Chapter of the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association is holding its annual auction on March 22nd from 5 PM until 9 PM at Dimillo’s Floating Restaurant on Commercial Street in Portland.
