Event Details

Regimental MUG Marching Competition, Sound-Off, and Lifeboat Races

Come watch and cheer as the four regimental companies compete in drill exercises and lifeboat races. These events, and others that started during Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT), will determine the Class of 2021 Honor Company of the year!

Regimental Induction Ceremony

Immediately following the Gun Re-dedication Ceremony, please make your way to the stands at Ritchie Field for the Regimental Induction Ceremony. The MUG Class of 2021 will conduct a March On and take the Oath of Midshipmen. This ceremony officially marks the end of MUG Month and the Class of 2021 will be introduced into the Regiment as 4/C Midshipmen.

What is RIC?

The path to becoming a Midshipman at Maine Maritime Academy starts with the first step, Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT). After RPT, the Midshipmen Under-Guidance (MUGs) begin classes while continuing to be taught and guided by their training cadre through MUG Month. The finale of this intense, focused training is comprised of some competitions in the morning and culminates with the MUGs taking the Oath of Midshipmen at our Regimental Induction Ceremony. From that point on, they are 4th Class Midshipmen and they begin the next phase at Maine Maritime Academy. Come join us and see the pride and sense of accomplishment that will be on display at the various events throughout the day.

Contact Janet Acker at 207-326-2250 or for more information about RIC.
