Carrie Plourde Norton graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Marine Transportation Operations and a minor in Marine Science and then obtained her M.S. degree in Global Supply Chain Management at Maine Maritime. After graduation, she took a position as 3rd Mate Dynamic Positioning operator with Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO). Her most memorable experience at ECO was when she took command as Master delivering a fast crew vessel from Port Fourchon, Louisiana to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Carrie moved from ECO to Ensco PLC in 2011. She was stationed in Brazil and performed duties as both 3rd and 2nd Mate aboard the ENSCO DS-4 a 6th generation drillship. Following her work on the ENSCO DS-4, she worked in Geoje, South Korea to oversee the ENSCO DS-8 drillship start-up project. Carrie is currently stationed on the ENSCO DS-8 in Angola and is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, maintenance, and testing of all marine, dynamic positioning and safety equipment onboard. She holds a USCG Unlimited Chief Mate license. At MMA, Carrie was involved in Student Government and Varsity sailing. She resides in Cape Elizabeth, Maine with her husband Mike and her son Michael Bennett.
