Maine Maritime Academy’s annual Memorial Rededication Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. The memorial plaza, located behind the Alfond Student Center, includes a ship’s naval gun and a granite monument with a plaque listing MMA alumni lost at sea, gifted by the Classes of 1949 and 1962. This year’s event will be carried out by the Regiment of Midshipmen and focused on those alumni who lost their lives while serving at sea. Information and Livestream Access

The path to becoming a Midshipman at Maine Maritime Academy starts with the first step, Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT). After RPT, the Midshipmen Under-Guidance (MUGs) begin classes while continuing to be taught and guided by their training cadre through MUG training. The finale of this intense, focused training is comprised of inter- and intra-company competitions and culminates with the MUGs taking the Oath of Midshipmen at our Regimental Induction Ceremony. From that point on, they are 4th Class Midshipmen and will focus on their next phase at Maine Maritime Academy. Information and Livestream Access
