Silent Auction

Here’s How it Works
  • Each day different donated auction items will be put out on a table in the Dining Hall.
  • Fill out a secret bid slip and drop it in the container.
  • The bidding ends each day at 6:30 pm.
  • Each morning, the high-bid winners will be posted on the Message/Bulletin Board.
  • Winners can pay and pick up their item in the School Office.
  • Tie bids will be placed in the next day’s silent auction for rebidding.

Open Bid Silent Auction

Sometimes we get unique auction donation pieces that don’t exactly fit our traditional silent or live auction format. These may be pieces that are donated from collections; are of unusually high quality but not made by an Artisan or Fellow so don’t qualify for the live auction; or are additional pieces donated by our instructors. We will have one silent auction that has an open, sign-up bid process. These few select pieces will be out only for one day, Monday, where you can see the bidder’s list and bid accordingly. Bidding will end promptly at 6:15. The winners will be posted on the board in the Lobby the next morning.

Live Auction

Here’s How it Works
  • Preview donated Live Auction items in the School Exhibit during the week and in the Dining Hall during the Lobster Cookout.
  • Following dinner, sign-in and get your bid paddle.
  • Auction helpers are members of the Scholarship Committee and 2020-2023 Scholarship recipients.
  • Auction items will be projected on the screen during the auction.
All About Tonight’s Live Auction

Many of the items tonight have been donated by instructors or other Artisans and Fellows of the Guild.

Items in the Live Auction tend to be auctioned off at “choice” prices. While it may be disappointing that you are not a successful bidder—you may not even have a chance to bid—you are at least able to cheer the active bidders along. Perhaps you can even encourage higher prices by doing so. It is a lot of fun to watch as well as to participate. Some amazing events occur sometimes. Your participation is important. Be an active bidder! Be a cheerleader!

To those who have been so generous and made a contribution in any way to this effort, and supported it, thank you!.

Why Do We Have Fundraisers?

  1. So we can continue to purchase and upgrade our Tool Pool.
  2. So we can offer scholarships.
  3. So we can keep tuition as low as possible.

What Are Our Fundraisers?

  1. Items purchased in the School Office/Store raise a teeny-tiny bit of additional income.
  2. The Silent Auction raises a very large amount of additional income.
  3. The Live Auction raises a very, very large amount of additional income.
  4. And sometimes we dream up some crazy idea that brings in a few extra dollars.
