Robert J. Peacock II ’71

Major at MMA: Deck
Extracurricular involvement while at MMA: (current) Board of Trustees; Visiting Lecturer
Employer: Quoddy Pilots USA and TRUFRESH, LLC

Where has your career taken you since graduation?

All over the world – 34 countries and 38 States.

What is your current title and what are your responsibilities?

I am a Ship Pilot and Director of Operations at TRUFRESH, LLC, a frozen fish manufacturing, distribution, and research company.

What piece of advice would you give to a student going into your field?

Take every opportunity offered to you, study hard, and most importantly, establish a reputation for hard work.

How did the MMA experience prepare you for both your prior positions and your current career focus?

My education at MMA taught me the value of hands on hard work, learning about my jobs from the personnel above and below me, and gave me the technical and especially the leadership training to become a ship Master at a young age. As professor CAPT Hathaway taught us all: “Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes with a smile!”

What are your goals for the future?

Treat my family like they are the most important people in the world; stay professionally sharp, always upgrading my skills; and recruit as many young people as I can encourage to attend MMA in various careers.
